  3. And that is the one of the colors that they were painted when manufactured. We live in such a dull world now. Everything is either red, dark green or a variety of shades of gray from white to black. Boring. Loved the old two and three tone paint jobs of the 50′s.

  9. Actually, economy cars predate the Metro. Crosley started in 1939. American Austin/American Bantam around 1930.
    Willys 77 (a hot rodders’ favorite) dates from 1933.
    Kaiser/Frazer came out with the Henry J (another hot rodders’ favorite) in 1950.
    And don’t forget the Nash Rambler, started around 1950.
