  3. You can’t be serious. How would someone invest the time and money into something like this?

  5. Hey, he want’s it to last…

  6. JaBlowMe on October 25th, 2010
  7. Yeah, German car built in Mexico chopped up in America

  9. UMMM…how in what way could this be Conservative?
Proud maybe…conservative I am thinking not.
American yeah I’ll give it that.

  11. Also, the nameplate (brand) originated from Nazi Germany. Not that I take issue with VW, I just think this clash is humorous.

  13. Patriotism doesn’t necessitate isolationism

  15. Yeah, I agree with the clash.

  17. Volkswagen EH,the first beetles were built by slave labor, namely Jews who were ultimately gassed, shot or burned alive in places like Auschwitz…

  19. Nothing says “conservative” like a wildly emblazoned flag and a lot of chrome. I would tend to think 1967 Cadillac convertible, maybe dark blue, white leather.

  21. Aside from the eagle with the “ORLY?” expression and text below it aside, I really like this. I hadn’t seen another conversion done using a New Beetle before and it looks like they did a really good job. The paint work looks top notch, too. For a place where people toss out racial slurs like Halloween candy on a daily basis around here, it’s pretty ironic to see mention of VW having once used slave labour.

FYI, that was on order of Hitler, not the company itself. Ferdinand Porsche and other company people were against it, but Hitler wanted cars pumped out as quickly as possible and did not think the Allies would bomb the auto plant with prisoners working there.

  23. It doesn’t matter where your pride lies. Please stop wearing it on your sleeve. Doing so just looks like a pathetic plea for attention.

  24. A. Squid on October 26th, 2010
  25. I’ve said this before somewhere but if you can afford a Beetle you have no excuse to be driving one. They’re way too expensive and the cuteness factor wore off as soon as people learned that a new Beetle was in design.

  27. Another proud idiot. Every day, I lose more faith in the human race.

  28. Hermie on October 26th, 2010
  29. I like this, but only for the blasphemy it is. Texan friends are screaming about this car :)

  31. Isn’t that desecration of the flag?

  32. joemamasmurf on October 28th, 2010
  33. American flags on foreign cars piss me off. How much can you tow with that thing? I’m betting no more than a Radio Flyer filled with stuffed animals.

  34. Matt on October 30th, 2010
  35. nice i did not know you can do that to a bug USA USA USA yes im 100 percent red white and blue and 100 percent redneck

  36. ben777 on November 1st, 2010
  37. I would drive it if it didn’t say Conservative on the side.

  38. Neg on November 11th, 2010
  39. Seriously! You’re driving around in a car with a frickin eagle superimposed over the Stars and Stripes, in a customized car with bloody ugly chrome fakestacks and airhorns and the whole ensemble literally screams “HEY Y’ALL! LOOKIT ME!” and you have the cojones to call yourself a conservative? To quote Dickens – “I’ll retire to Bedlam”

  45. I used to work around the corner from this guy. My british-born boss and i loved seeing this nimrod scoot around the neighborhood. he’s an older guy, and definitely a republican douchenozzle (btw, for those of you who are confusing political conservativism for introverted solitude, may i remind you that republican conservatives are truly dumb enough to give american money to a german company using mexican labor and still consider themselves patriots… just saying)
and ironically, the mexican born immigrants working at the same company as him, probably spend more money on american products that this guy does… who’s the real patriot?
